Justin Bodnarchuk

Justin is the founder and master trainer of Aspect Fitness. His passion for fitness stems from an extensive background in various sports (hockey, rowing, wrestling, etc.).

His specialty is assessing clients' abilities and limitations, which lets him design custom exercise plans that are optimal in goal achievement.

Justin's history of injury as an athlete, and dedication to continual learning in his field, is what established the class structure and training approach at Aspect Fitness.

Justin is truly focused on optimizing the potential results that all clients have the ability to achieve.


Stephanie Schmid

200 HR RYT in Functional Power Yoga

- Diploma in Musical Theatre: Performance, at Sheridan Institute of Advanced Technology

Stephanie joins us at Aspect Fitness as our Yoga Director. Constantly moving, Stephanie is fresh out of her Yoga Teacher Training in December of 2018, but has been acquiring the skills to lead, teach, and encourage others her whole life. 

Stephanie grew up studying Dance at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, where she competed with the Dance Ensemble, and began volunteering: Assisting Teaching a variety of children’s dance classes.

Studying Musical Theatre in College led to plenty of stage time performing in a variety of theatres throughout the Toronto area and found herself in a major tourist attraction, in Dawson City, Yukon. Stephanie performed for hundreds of tourists weekly as one of the infamous Gertie Girls, and as Miss Diamond Tooth Gertie herself, the lead singer and Madam of this highly interactive, Vaudeville Style Can-can Show for 5 years. 

Stephanie’s life as a professional dancer lead to various injuries which held her back in her training and performance. In January 2018, Stephanie started to practice yoga and meditation, and the healing process began. Not only has Stephanie gained back her strength and flexibility in ways she could never imagine, but she has found such peace and ease in her day to day life. She has taken leaps and bounds in the last year to be able to share this amazing practice with you. 



Derek McLennan

- Bachelor of Kinesiology-AT
- Certified Athletic Therapist
- Master of Science in Kinesiology

Derek is currently the Head Athletic Therapist for the cities new professional soccer team Valour FC. He will be working full time for them during their inaugural season with hopes of returning to Aspect in the fall.

Derek is the former Head Athletic Therapist for the Winnipeg Goldeyes Baseball Club, and helped the team achieve the American Association of Professional Baseball Championship for the past two seasons.

Derek also served as a student intern for the Winnipeg Jets’ therapy staff, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers, assisting with training camp and gameday treatment.

Derek was also a student therapist with the University of Manitoba Bisons Football and Mens Volleyball teams.

Kurt Profile.png

Kurt Wood

- Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
- Diploma in Technical Communication
- Certificate in Precision Nutrition Level 1

Kurt is the Nutrition Coach at Aspect Fitness. His interest in fitness and nutrition began when he was 20, due to significant weight gain. The journey started with running, which progressed from a few street lengths to full half-marathons.

In his late 20’s, Kurt became a member of Aspect Fitness, and acquired general knowledge in resistance training. Along the way, Kurt expanded his athletic skill set. He obtained a Level 1 Bronze certificate in ballroom dance, at Arthur Murray Dance School, and took Krav Maga and Russia Martial Arts classes to acquired fundamental self-defense skills. In more recent years, Kurt has become more interested in focusing on strength training and improving his mobility.

Kurt has tried various nutrition regiments (intermittent fasting, one-meal-a-day, high-fat, etc.) to see their effects.

His knowledge of Aspect Fitness’s methodology, certification as a Nutrition Coach, and education in psychology, makes him an excellent addition to the staff at Aspect Fitness.
